[OOL] Being charged $10 for Optimum 100

I had thought that Optimum 100 is the current base tier, the slowest speed Optimum has available. According to my bill, I am being charged $34.95 per month for Optimum Online, plus $10 per month for Optimum 100 (plus the $4.95 per month modem fee, and the free Smart Router). Since I thought that Optimum 100 was the new base speed, I was surprised that I was being charged anything beyond the Optimum Online cost. As I've posted in the past, due to wireless interference, I can't get even 20 Mb/s, yet alone 100 Mb/s so I have no desire to pay for anything extra. When I called Optimum to ask, they said that everybody must pay for a speed tier, and that the $10 Optimum 100 is the cheapest speed tier. They said that paying just the $34.95 for Optimum Online gets you no service at all. It was also pointed out that I'm actually getting an upgrade to Optimum 200 for free. But I pointed out that the upgrade is worthless to me, since I can't even get 20 MB/s due to the wireless interference. I then checked Optimum's website. It lists the Optimum Online cost as $64.95! It, however, listed no extra cost for Optimum 100. Is the $30 per month discount (minus the extra $10 I'm being charged) a multi-product discount that I'm entitled to, since I also have Optimum TV and Voice? If so, then I should not be charged the extra $10. Or, am I getting a special deal, which is still $20 cheaper than full price even after adding the $10 per month, in which case I should just be happy and stop complaining? Is it considered bad form to poll others here as to how much they are paying for service? Thank you.

Optimum Wifi - cannot delete saved devices - can't log in too

The Optimum WiFi manager in my profile seems to indicated that 3 of 15 devices are saved, but it says "no devices found" right underneath. I previously used my Macbook on these WiFi hotspots, but now it does not actually give me internet access when I connect to the Optimum WiFi. When I try to add my Macbook MAC into the page, it tells me the device is already registered! I did live chat with tech support, but they told me they see no devices logged on and cannot help. What can I do?

If the Arris SB6183 which is a supported Modem for Optimum Online, can I get the lastest firmware from Optimum if I called a Tech person? I just wish my modem had the firmware where I can turn off the UFO bright lights. It's ridiculous Arris put such bright lights on it. WTF were they thinking?

Internet dropping for 2-10 seconds every couple hours

This have been driving me crazy for the past month. I usually game from 8 to 12 P.M or sometimes through the neight if I dont have work next day. The internet will cutout randomly for 3-5 seconds disconnecting me from everything. I first tried changing the router and network card, but then I just connected modem directly to computer and still having this issue. I also changed the coaxil cables, replaced all ethernted cables and even the power strip modem is plugged into. nothing worked... I have technician coming over in couple days, but I dont even know how to display or test this when technician arrives since disconnects happen randomly. what to do?

How will the Altice One fit in a complex existing network?

Right now I have two Leviton media panels in the utility room. One is telephony and supports two MagicJacks and an Ooma. The large panel has a Netgear FVS336Gv3, two ProSafe GS116NA switches, the distribution block for cable and some patch panels. The house and garages are extensively wired with CAT6. There are two Ruckus access points on site. On the actual wall of the utility room there are two wall plates with RG59 connectors. One is the actual cable feed. The other is for the Netgear router in the panel. An Arris TM802 sits on a shelf and is connected via those two plates. The thought was to keep Cablevision equipment segregated off the home network to make switching providers or modems simple. A couple of the Samsung cable boxes are installed in custom brackets beneath articulated wall mount tvs. Now the question is - will the Altice One have a place in a setup like this or am I better off keeping the existing equipment? Also going forward will "plain" modems and cable boxes will be available or will everything be rolled into a single box? My current wifi setup is optimized for coverage throughout the property and so much of the equipment is dependent on ethernet connections (security system/cameras, home automation, traditional PCs and servers, etc) that wifi is almost secondary.

I have the new Altice One Boxes with the Wifi being inside them. I currently am having problems using my PC and browsing the internet. The connections and loading of new pages are slower than they were when I had verizon router/modem. These boxes have 5 ghz and supposed to get up to 200 download. Do I need a new USB Wireless Adapter for my computer that is more recent than the 3-4 year old one I currently have. Or it there someone wrong with the new Altice One boxes. When I run a speedtest I get 9 Ping with 195 download and around 55 upload.

FYI check your email or spam, especially if you only have Internet. They have sent not only myself but some family and friends who also only have Internet deals to increase your speeds for much cheaper, some of them got double offers for cheap.

While not specifically related to Optimum, I just thought I'd post to let everyone know Google has its own speedtest. Just Bing Yahoo Google speedtest and the first result is their test. It's not as customizable as Ookla but it's a "quick and dirty" test, sort of like fast.com.

I've seen the Arris TM3202 and TM3402, but can't for the life of me find these for sale ANYWHERE. Does anybody know any other 24 downstream channel modems that have eMTA ports for Optimum Voice that don't use the PUMA 6 chipset?

BYO Compatible modems for Optimum Internet

Hi, I'm signing up with Optimum Internet service in the Brooklyn area and would like to provide my own modem. I"m curious whether there is a full list of compatible modems as of mid 2017 (i.e. now-ish). The sign-up page on Optimum's site lists the following models: * Arris TM822-2 port 3.0 * TM804-4 port 3.0 * TM1602-2 port 3.0 * Motorola SBV6220 3.0 Are these the *only* modems that will work with Optimum? If so, which of them is the best? If not, what others might work? I've found the following modems recommended elsewhere: * ARRIS SB6141 * ZOOM 5345 * ARRIS Surfboard 6183 Are any of them compatible? Thanks in advance for any help or guidance.

new sb6183 dropping connection

I installed a new sb6183 Tuesday evening at my parent's house and Thursday at around 9AM the connection dropped. I had them power cycle the modem and the internet was working again. Before installing the sb6183, they were leasing a modem from optimum and it was working without any issues. I attached screenshots of the modem web page. Can anyone confirm things look good?
