Over the past year i have slowly been converting our apartment to a smart home, running all our lights, switches, outlets, security system, cameras, over the network. As I’ve reached the current count of 28 devices the Altice One router has started to require a restart almost weekly so that all devices remain connected. I called in to try to find a solution, and here’s what I was told:
1. Optimum 200 only supports 11 devices. Optimum 400 supports 18.
2. AlticeOne only supports 15 devices, period.
3. Each AlticeOne box supports 16 devices and if I have more, i can just run an additional AlticeOne box which would act as a repeater but also support an additional 16 devices - giving me a 32 device limit.
None of this makes sense to me frankly, and the fact that I cannot get the same answer twice - makes me wonder if any of it is actually true.
Does anyone have any experience running so many devices over AlticeOne?
Current setup is 1 One and 2 Minis.
