So, over the last 6-12 months I've been having trouble with email. I can receive, but can't send, on several accounts. For a while it seemed like a soft failure, but now it's permanent.
My model is this: I have several email providers for several different email accounts (e.g. a work account; my personal email account which is on a Network Solutions server on my own domain [i.e. "myname@myaccount.com"]; a couple of Gmail accounts for various functions I'm involved with; etc). I access all of them using an email client (Thunderbird) on my home PC and my work laptop.
Problem first began with my personal email... client won't connect to the outgoing SMTP server. Has since spread to a couple other (but not all) accounts.
Questions:
1) Is this likely a Spamhaus issue? Or OOL itself blocking? How do I determine which?
2) If Spamhaus... what's the workaround? Is my model of email access no longer viable? I would think this to be not uncommon... not everyone has only one email account directly through their ISP, right? And not everyone would be happy with accessing email only through a web interface. What am I missing?
