Long story short, I've always owned my own modems, but at some point last year or later I was having connection issues and a tech came out as part of the troubleshooting and tried a new modem and left it.
I found out earlier this year we were being charged for it and it has been a nightmare to get this fee off my bill. The modem was returned to a physical location probably ~6months ago (have receipt).
The modem fee keeps returning to the bill after months of back and forth with low level customer service people saying they have taken it off, managers taking it off, at one point getting a credit for the last 4 months of modem fee charges. Then it shows up again and its another call.
Last month same process, and now here we are and the bill received today has the fee and I'm looking for opinions on how to escalate this to resolve.
