Hello,
I currently have an MG7550 modem/router combo, but am primarily using an Asus RT-AC68R for my wireless router. I currently have the wi-fi enabled on the modem/router because when I attempt to put the router in bridge mode, the ASUS stops working, so I have it set up as a DMZ connection. As I am thinking that the wi-fi might be clogging some of the channels and have been having some issues with buffering and text messages/wi-fi calling with t-mobile working a little wonky, I have been thinking about switching out the MG7550 for a regular cable modem. However, most of the sites I am looking at seem to say that a 16x4 modem, which the MG7550 is, should be fine for Optimum 200. Would it be worth it to upgrade to a 24x8 or 32x8 modem or would I likely not see any difference? Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to get my wi-fi to work more efficiently? I have a TP-Link AC range extender, and was originally using the same SSID as the regular networks, but was thinking that might create some conflict issues so I recently changed the SSID to an -EXT name at the end. Thanks for any help you might be able to provide!
Thanks,
Kevin
