[OOL] Early termination reimbursement - when it snows in sahara?

Any helpful feedback appreciated. Back in December, when researching possibly switching to Cable from 1mbs DSL, I'd spoken various times on the phone with sales reps. At least two of them, when I explained that I was under contract with DSLX, and with 8 months left to go on my contract [for a total of approx. $175 loss], told me "no problem, Optimum reimburses early termination fee's. So then, approx. Jan. 15th, I'd phoned Optimum to ask the procedure for reimbursement, and the rep. (whom I made sure to jot down her name), instructed me that I need to: (1) send a fax to a 516 number - and she gave me the # (2) include my Optimum account # (3) fax the last bill received from DSLX (4) the bill needs to state on it "early termination fee" (5) allow 10 weeks for reimbursement So I followed the instructions to a T. Then Jan.30 I received an email from "early termination reimbursement support" proofconfirmation@cablevision.com as follows: "At this time, we are not able to honor your request due to the following reason: It appears the paperwork you submitted from your previous provider is not eligible for a reimbursement at this time. If you feel you're receiving this notification in error, please see below for ways to provide updated documentation to us. Documentation must include the Optimum account # and, your contact phone number. By fax# By Email By Mail Go to the nearest Optimum Store Thanks again blah blah blah Anyway, to make a long story short, I followed up several times with their billing dept. only to be transferred to various supervisors who were comparable to teflon or brick-wall. Very tough guys who seemed to be enjoying toying with me. When I told the last guy that the discussion is unproductive (he'd wasted a 1/2 hr. of my time), and that I'd like to speak directly to the reimbursement dept., he said they're not directly reachable, and he asked for my # to give to them. I also told him that I'd like to receive an emailed PDF dated prior to Dec.2016, which states any rules about only reimbursing those who were transitioning from specific ISP providers. I mean, how can they arbitrarily say: "your ISP isn't listed among those whom we reimburse for"... ....without providing written proof that it was in their rule-book prior to Dec.2016 which was when I spoke with their personnel? And how dare they coach their sales personnel to tell people they give E.T.reimbursement, when they don't plan on following thru?
