This has been happening for a few months now, and I've just been shutting my eyes and hoping it goes away, because I don't really want to fight with Optimum, but I can't stand it anymore. My internet has been dropping at least once a day, but lately it's been closer to 3 or 4+ times. I think sometimes it just degrades, because on some occasions I may still have access to discord while web browsing is gone. Yesterday, I was on a video conference and I could still hear and see the other people but they couldn't hear me. My speedtest result is 12 Mbps, but at night it's closer to 5, and I've gotten even worse results.
Only thing that resolves it is a modem reboot. I have a SB8200 and I'm attaching my modem logs (I think I have a 12dB attenuator on the line). Whenever I call Optimum, they see that I own my own modem and immediately blame it with 0 attempt at troubleshooting.
I guess the path of least resistance is to just rent one of their modems for a month or two, but I need a sanity check. Is this an Optimum / line problem or a modem problem? Any help appreciated.
