Although satisfied at 100-200Mbps, and with my own (old, slow) wired devices and routers (including WiFi), after a retention call, was sent a Ubee UBC1338AA92 to replace current Arris TM822G because "under 300Mbps is no longer permitted". Before going through with the physical swap. I'd like to confirm that the phone rep was correct where conflicting with online search-results, and where online threads are themselves unclear. re: Ubee built-in eRouter 1) Not understanding complaints re: unable to use your own router at all and/or needing OOL to remotely enable bridge-mode for the Ubee. Assuming your own router is set to a different private address space than the Ubee's default, and all your devices are connected to your router, how is the Ubee even going to "know" what's plugged into it? (And can't see how double NAT would be any problem in the very basic wired setup which exists here - no VPNs, VLANs, VoIP, port-forwarding, etc.) re: Ubee WiFi - very conflicting information online 1) Built-in WiFi cannot controlled by end-user, at all. or Built-in WiFi can be controlled by end-user, a little bit (like rename network). 2) Built-in WiFi can be shut off only by OOL. or Built-in WiFi networking is always-on, and only the *SSID broadcast* can be shut off by OOL. (just a "hidden network".) or Built-in WiFi *radio* is always-active, but OOL can disable wireless networking by putting it into bridge-mode - which would also disable the built-in wired router Thanks!
