-- Bedminster Township Committee meeting --
We had a township committee meeting on 02/01/21 with no timeline on upgrades from AlticeUSA representative.
Meeting on YouTube.
-- Basking Ridge Township Committee meeting --
Planned on 23 February, 2021. Agenda will be posted 48 hours before the meeting. AlticeUSA representative stated that she will be at this meeting.
-- Node Split Info --
I have been tracking this issue in the Hills Highlands since March 2020. The physical node with ID: 83C111, 83C211, 83C311, 83C411 will be split very soon. I'll refer this node to as 83Cx11. They finished all work -- the only thing left to do is placing in the new node and activating it.
Another node split is planned in The Hills at Hills Dr & Robertson Dr.
Update 10 February: This node will be split soon as contractors are actively digging underground so they can place fiber cables for the new node.
-- Node Configuration Info --
As of 04 February, 2020: Hills Highlands AND The Hills have 28 downstream channels, 28 MHz wide OFDM channel, and 6 upstream channels. (exact same config)
-- Node Split Updates --
04 Feb: Node ID 83Cx11 had its ports moved around at the CMTS early morning. A 5th upstream channel has been added which provides aprox. additional 12 Mbps upstream bandwidth which provides total of 120 Mbps per HFC node (i.e. per node ID).
The impact of this change is explained very well by this person: https://www.dslreports.com/forum/r32752559-
Also a brief info overview by OSPTech: https://www.dslreports.com/forum/r32751068-
In nutshell, this node has ~12.5% increase of upstream capacity which benefits everyone.
06 Feb: Node split for 83Cx11 will happen on 10 February 2021 (Wednesday) morning! Affects eastern part of Hills Highland community.
08 Feb: ETA improvement for node 83Cx04 (83C104, 204,304,404) is 3-4 weeks. It is unknown exactly what they will do about this node.
09 Feb: TeleUtilities contractor is digging in The Hills for a second node split. Looks the work is being done faster than in Hills Highlands. Also, PmNodeInDistress (maintenance) status for 10 February 2021 morning.
11 Feb: PmNodeInDistress (maintenance) status -- The Hills Bedminster Modems rebooted at aprox. 01:00. Per info shared by Bob, this is same thing they did to Hills Highlands last week to provide ~12.5% upstream capacity increase.
23 Feb: Node split is complete in The Hills per Bob's post.
24 Feb: Node split project in Hills Highlands is on hold pending contract agreement between “a townhome community” and ATUS.
11 March: Project start 17 March and expected to finished 2-3 weeks after.
14 April: CMTS MAC change. Upstream Configuration changed to:
12.8 MHz (3.2Mhz)
17.6 MHz (6.4Mhz)
24.0 MHz (6.4MHz)
30.4 MHz (6.4Mhz)
36.8 MHz (6.4Mhz)
