My FIOS bill went up and looks like I can get Optimum which will double my speed and still be $20 cheaper than FIOS. I just have couple of generic questions.
1. Does Optimum require external box (ONT type) like FIOS outside or inside of home to be installed? Last time I had cable internet was in an apartment so there was a cable box outside for the whole complex.
2. Is there a wi-fi enabled modem/router that I can purchase to avoid monthly rental fee for the Optimum provided modem? I would like to have one box that connects to coax and also has the antennas for wi-fi.
3. If I were to signup for their TV service as well, would each TV need a box or I can use my existing Roku box to get their TV subscription? I am asking because the internet modem is in the basement and TVs are not wired. My current Roku streams TV thru wi-fi.
Thanks.
