USB port on dir-868l (optimum fw) for storage & media

I'm looking for more info regarding specs and setup for USB port on dlink dir-868l (router with optimum firmware) for storage and media use. Is there a more direct URL page I can use for advanced setup because the file sharing page doesn't show my drive when attached. (I've scanned this forum, searched the optimum site and googled it too). I've tried 2 USB devices without any luck. I've tried a Lexar 32gb usb3 flash drive formatted as NTFS and a 3 TB Seagate backup external usb3 HD (NTFS). I reformatted the flash drive and the 3TB was brand new. I haven't tried FAT32 on these drives or my other 1tb or 2tb usb2 drives yet (but they have data on them already). I know there might be a size limitation (depending on firmware) and fileformat restrictions. What's the Max TB? I presume NTFS is supported I can try FAT32 but I may be saving large MPeg files on this. are EXTn supported? What protocols or services are available to the storage on the USB? both devices have no issue when directly connected to laptop instead of the router USB port. When either connected to router USB and trying to view network via laptop I see the MyMedia but not MyShare. With the flash drive I tried clean formatted and with 1 jpg file (no folders). Is there a required folder structure needed? also, the first time I plugged in the 3tb drive, it continually rebooted the router but once I power cycled it, that didn't occur any more. I also installed the shareport utility on my laptop but I wasn't able to see anything via the tool either. Any help/suggestions appreciated. Thanks.
