I had Ultra 50. That worked as advertised. Recently I received an email stating that because I was a loyal customer, I was getting an upgrade to Ultra 100 for free.
Ok. Well now that it has been "upgraded", I have 34.9 megabits down and 28.9 megabits up (and speeds like that 24/7 - sometimes much *worse*). I called Optimum support and of course, there is "nothing wrong with my modem and it is provisioned properly."
Meanwhile, nothing has changed on my end. Same exact setup. I checked the connection on the coax - all tight - no changes. Same firewall as with ultra 50 - no difference, no changes.
Does anyone have any idea what is going on here? I'm really thinking it's time for FIOS.
Thanks for any hints.
