I currently have 10 months left on my FIOS Contract so I believe the ETF is about $200 which I see OOL offers to pay $250 ETF to switch. NOTE: FIOS ETF is now $350 when you sign new contract. Sneakies.
Anyway, I'm cutting cable. I currently pay a whopping $171 per month for FIOS 75/75 and FIOS TV. With the great deals OOL has going on right now I can get more than triple my internet speed for $60. More than half savings even if I go the 200 MBPS tier. My question is does that change after one year if I choose no contract or is that price set in stone?
Also when would be the best date to switch? My FIOS bill usually comes in at the beginning of the month (first week) Should I switch now as to avoid paying two bills for two services? Do they charge for installation?
Also what equipment would need to go back to Verizon? I have seen that they give you a box to send back stuff for free, but not technically what should be in it.
I realize I could ask OOL all this but I wanted to get a head start before I called them. Thanks for any help/advice.
