Thoughts on Router Woes w/Ultra

Brain Trust, I just purchased a TL-R600VPN router to replace a D-Link DGL-4100 as I needed the gigabit WAN port for full throughput with the Ultra 101 tier (BTW, the D-Link was rock solid for the last 3-4 years). I noticed that after approximately 24hrs my downstream speeds drop down to around 60Mb/s and rebooting the TL-R600VPN restores the speed back to 101+ Mb/s. I have the latest firmware and even reflashed it to no avail. Tech support has been of little use. I did find a thread on NewEgg wherein someone had a similar problem and the response from TP-Link seemed to suggest it was a memory issue: ------------------ We appreciate you taking time to try and review our product. We are sorry about the slow speeds that you are getting after 24 hours of up time. Usually the issue is in the firmware with the way it manages the memory. When you are using a bunch of network connections, your RAMM is being used. The RAMM should free its memory after a connection is closed. What you may be seeing is that the RAMM isn't actually freeing the memory and in fact slows down the system until it is reset. Doing a factor reset can help as was stated by our previous tech, and we even recommend re-flashing to the latest firmware which can be found at:
http://www.tp-link.us/support/downlo...rsion=V1#tbl_j ------------------ The response from TP-Link said it doesn't have anything to do with the above (I sent them to the thread). I purchased a second TL-R600VPN router and replicated the same problem: This was my downstream speed yesterday morning, approximately 24 hours ago: http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/2859100973 Here was my downstream speed this morning after approximately 24hrs: http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/2861256977 Here is my speed now after immediately rebooting the TL-R6000VPN: http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/2861259764 Any thoughts or insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
