I'm having this issue with sending emails on my Optimum network and no one at Optimum can solve it. I can receive just fine and also I can send Optimum emails from any other network (e.g. my mobile Sprint). My settings, login, etc are all correct. I have no viruses or malware. It worked for years and I didn't change anything.
With my limited knowledge and 3rd party tools I discovered the SMTP log when I try to connect and send gives me this:
"Connecting to mail server.
Connected.

Any thoughts from anyone with high technical knowledge as to what this means? "500 5.5.2 unrecognized command"? Why am I getting that error? Again, my settings never changed, it just all of sudden started doing this.
Any ideas on how to fix or what I can try over here on my end? Thanks.
