Hello Everyone,
Ever since Cablevision upgraded my cable modem to a Arris TM802 I've been getting frequent error messages stating "this is site can't be reached" and whatever.com's "server DNS address could not be found". I called the support line for optimum online and the rep suggested I reset my router which I did but am still having the same problem. She also suggested I hook up a different computer such as a laptop directly to the cable modem and see if I still have the problem. I'm disabled and cannot do that myself so I'll wait to have a friend do it but I'm wondering if there are any other steps I can take in the meantime and what to do if I do continue to have the same problem with my laptop?
FYI, this problem started pretty much immediately after the cable modem was installed a little over a month ago. It happens throughout the day when I use my PC and it doesn't matter which website I'm trying to access. It could be Google, Facebook, Amazon and many other websites. I'll get the error message and have to click refresh several times or wait for Chrome to auto refresh before I get connected. It doesn't happen every time but it is quite often and is quite annoying! I'm also having problems accessing and staying connected to Pandora which I connect through my Sony Blu-ray player. I'm running Windows 7 on a Dell Studio XPS and a Netgear Wireless-N 300 router. Any help y'all can provide is greatly appreciated, thanks!
