Hello,
I am running into a weird problem with my SamKnows white box which has now stopped reporting any information for about a month now.
My network configuration was as follows till some time in August 2016.
OOL Cable Modem-> Asus Router -> Sam Knows WhiteBox
I changed the configuration to
OOL Cable Modem -> Edgerouter Lite -> Asus Router(now an access point) -> SamKnows WhiteBox
I can confirm that there is internet connectivity in the white box and further my Edgerouter reports gigs of data in Tx/Rx over a month, but when I look at my SamKnows portal there is no data at all for just the upstream/downstream tests. All the other stuff has data in it.
There is no firewall in my edgerouter or any other restriction that would block any client in my network to not able to go out and talk to any tcp/udp port.
I reached out to SamKnows and they are asking me to open a wide range of ports both inbound/outbound as shown below, but I am a bit skeptical to open up so many ports.
Please can you also ensure the following ports are opened on your
firewall: 53, 80, 5000-7000 and port 8080 for both TCP and UDP.
Does anybody here have any thoughts on what could be going wrong? There doesn't seem to be any way to access this whitebox when it is in bridge mode. I am able to open an ssh session into port 2222(I may be have the port wrong here), but I don't have any user id/password.
If this is not the appropriate forum for this post, please let me know where I should post this instead?
