I use a VOIP app (Groundwire) on my Android phone for phone calls. It uses GCM (Google Cloud Messaging) push for incoming calls (great for battery life because it doesn't have to maintain its own UDP/TCP connection open).
When I'm on mobile data or other WiFi networks it works well because I get the incoming push instantly and can get my calls.
When I'm connected to my home WiFi (Optimum supplied Arris modem & D-Link router), all my notifications seem to come a little late.
For email and Whatsapp, etc, it doesn't really matter, but for incoming VOIP calls, it means I never get my incoming calls. I just get notifies half a minute later that I missed a call.
Is there some setting or port that is keeping the push notifications from working the way they are supposed to?
