Today I set up No-IP ddns service http://www.noip.com/ so I can remotely view security cameras.
However, whenever I try to connect using the host name "myhostname".ddns.net (left out real name for security reasons) it won't connect if I'm connected to the internet using optimum online. I've tried it at 3 different locations and I've also had my friends try it.
I've tried it on desktop computers and iPhones. When on the iPhone, if we turn off wifi and use the cell network, it'll connect fine.
I called the company and they stated they can connect without any issues. So it appears optimum is interfering with the redirect somehow.
Has anyone else had this issue?
The program I'm using for the IP cameras is BlueIris.
EDIT: I'm using port 81 for the server. If I type in the public ip address into the address bar "ipaddress:81" it'll connect without issue using optimum or my cell provider.
